My Philosophy
“Simplicity is the Ultimate Form of Sophistication.”
–Leonardo Da Vinci
Many websites try to cram too much information into too little of an area. This is confusing not only the user looking at the information, but to the search engines as well. For many people, sites with a lot of moving things, noises, sounds, music, and intricate graphics and navigation are not only confusing but overwhelming. As a result, they move on to the next site. If a site is loaded with images and flash programming, search engines like Google can’t read or understand it. Consequently, the site ranks lower in the search engines.
When creating your website, I focus on 3 areas:
Superior Service
Next to budget, service is what matters most to many businesses. When things go wrong, or you have a question or idea, being able call and communicate with your web designer is of the utmost importance. A few of the ways I commit to superior service are:
- I am based in Denver, Colorado — not on the other side of the planet.
- I can meet clients face-to-face anywhere in the Denver metro area.
- If I can’t or don’t do something, I refer you only to reputable contractors or companies that can do what you need done.
- I am always available via phone, email, or text message from 8AM-8PM Monday-Saturday.
- I am there when you need me.
Simple Design
By balancing the use of text and graphics, I convey your information to the person reading it in the quickest and easiest manner possible.
By using simple navigation, users knows where they are, how they got there, and where they are going on your site.
And most importantly: white space. White space is an area of the website where there is nothing. It is a rest area for the eyes. Using white space actually ties the website together, making it cleaner looking and giving a better user experience.
Simple Pricing
The most important part of any project: the budget.
By offering both per-hour and per-project pricing, I actually save you time, money, and headache.
How? Well, most web projects change from the beginning to the end. They evolve. What sounds like a good idea at the start becomes to hard to implement in the end. Or, something you are not interested in the beginning you get interested in half way through the project. If you are tied into per-project pricing, minimal changes are allowed without restarting the bidding and renegotiating process. Oftentimes, this forces you to reject something that would make your website much better.
By giving you the option to choose, I put you in back in control of your budget.
